Cambodia Casinos

There is an interesting story to the Cambodia casinos that lie just over the dividing line from next door Thailand, in which gambling hall gambling is illegal. Eight gambling halls are situated in a relatively tiny location in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling dens is in an excellent spot, a 3 to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest wagering locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very couple of Westerners. The phenomenal capital accrued from the gambling halls ranges from $7.5 million to over 12.5 million, and there are a few restrictions requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; still, financial sources are ambiguous. The borders are formally open from 0900 to 17:00, and though visas are allegedly required to cross, there are methods around this, as is true of most borders.

The 1st Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving just a single gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored barge gambling den, highlights one hundred and fifty slots and sixty tables. The Naga river boat never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of chemin de fer, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long opened. There are 150 slot machines and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slot machines and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and 96 table games, including 87 punto banco (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machines and sixty six of the normal table games, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, also in a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an international vacation and hotel building that features many comforts in addition to the gambling den, which contains 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 one armed bandits and 88 table games.
